WE ARE OPEN!

We are delighted to announce that Bristol City Council have decided that Elmfield School for Deaf Children will remain open.

It has been a very worrying time over the last year or so, but the overwhelming support we received has helped us in our drive to keep our campaign going to keep Elmfield open!  We would like to thank everyone who supported Elmfield and gave generously of their time.

We are now looking forward to the future and making Elmfield even better!  Look out for our new marketing campaign to make sure that everyone knows we are open and expanding our provision – the hard work begins now!

Visits to the school are always welcome.  Please contact us on 01179 030366 or 07891 898 188 for Primary and  01179 527170 or 07772 332 604 for Secondary.

Communicating, Learning, Achieving

Elmfield School is a bilingual school and we work closely with children and families to support learning and communication in both BSL and English.

We have a team of skilled and dedicated staff who take care to understand each child's individual needs and have high expectations of them.  We are proud of our school and the achievements of our children both academically and socially.

Elmfield School for Deaf Children is a good school which promotes a cultural and linguistic view of deafness, focusing on the development of English and BSL. The school also recognises the contribution of both the Deaf community and the wider community to the personal well-being and academic achievement of its pupils.

Enjoying learning!        Y6 students

The school is situated on two sites and both departments work closely with our partner mainstream schools to enrich learning within and beyond the curriculum.

We are very proud of the high quality of teaching and learning as well as the care, support and guidance which we give our children and invite you to visit the school and see for yourselves what we can offer you and your child.
