We enjoy welcoming new staff to join our school teams on both the Primary and Secondary sites and offer an induction programme to our new starters.  We also offer new staff the opportunity to learn and improve their BSL skills.

Mon-Fri 3.15pm-6pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable person to join our small cleaning team.

The post involves cleaning designated areas of the school including the toilets, and may involve some lifting.

This post is paid all year round but Elmfield is only open during term time, so Cleaners are expected to do these hours in bulk during the school holidays in order to complete periodic deep cleans (for example some of February and Easter half term and the last week in July). The postholder will be responsible for opening and closing the premises at these times.

This post is subject to a six month probationary period.

Supply Teachers

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Teachers to join our bank of supply teachers. Experience of working with Deaf or Hearing Impaired children is desirable, but not essential.
Elmfield School is a maintained Bristol Special School for pupils aged 2-16 years which serves the Bristol and wider region. We have been consistently judged as “Good” with “Outstanding” features by OFSTED. Pupils are severely/profoundly deaf, some with additional Special Educational Needs, and we provide a Bilingual Deaf Education where BSL and English are used.
A knowledge of British Sign Language is advantageous, but not essential as we can provide interpreters.
