Parent Drop In


We are pleased to let you know that another Parent drop in has been scheduled on Wednesday 16th March from 1.30pm to 3pm. It will be held at Elmfield Primary School, Bristol. This drop in is open for:

 Hearing Parents of Deaf children aged 11 to 17 years

Deaf Parents of children aged 8 to 17 years.

Disability Tennis


In 2016 the Tennis Foundation is running subsidised tennis camps aimed at players who are beginners/new to sport or those looking to develop their skills in a fun and sociable environment. The one day camps are led by experienced tennis coaches who will run through the basics of the sport, develop the participant’s ability and play informal competitions.

"Raising Deaf Children" workshops: 5th March

The workshops are for hearing parents who have deaf children aged from 0 to 11 years. The themes will be about the following topics:

  1. Deaf children with additional needs or issues

Bristol Parent Carers

Are a friendly group of parent carers of children and young people (0-25 years) with disabilities, special educational needs and chronic or life-limiting conditions.  They come from different backgrounds and communities across Bristol. They volunteer to work with Bristol City Council, NHS Bristol and other parent support groups to improve services for children and their parents/carers. For more information please click here.

British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust

BSLBT was established in 2008 to increase the amount of sign-presented programming on television.

Courses for Deaf Adults

The Deaf Studies Trust will be starting a programme of courses for Deaf Adults this coming Spring. There are four courses at the beginning and more courses will be added, including BSL courses. The four courses are:

1.    Literacy (Improve your English)

2.    Numeracy (Be more confident with counting/multiplying/etc.)

3.    IT (Use your computer better)

4.    Life Skills (plan your life better now and in the future)
