Post 16 Choices
Elmfield has a proud tradition of 100% of students taking up Post 16 education.
Children are very well supported by Learning Partnership West (formerly Connexions) which offers individual advice and guidance to Elmfield students alongside support from tutors and other school staff.
We encourage children and parents to start thinking about Post 16 choices in Year 9 when choosing GCSE and other options at Key Stage 4. This is followed up at the annual review in Year 10 when a transition plan is up and visits are arranged.
Learning Partnership West work closely with parents and students to explore:
- Choices
- Funding
- Support for deaf students
Post 16 places are finalised by the end of Term 4.
Our Learning Partnership West adviser can be contacted on 0117 987 3700 or visit the Learning Partnership West website.
Some colleges also offer additional English and Maths courses and tailor made programmes to meet the needs of individual students. Ex Elmfield students currently attend the following colleges who will be happy to discuss Post 16 options with you:
- Filton College, Bristol
- City of Bristol College
- Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education
- The Royal School for the Deaf, Derby
Further options are available at the North Bristol Post 16 Centre based at Redland Green School.
